Helpful Tips: LGBT Weddings

We want to make sure that everyone is happy on their special day. With that being said, we absolutely will take care of LGBT weddings. We have gotten a number of them already, and we just want you to know that it is not a problem at all. If you would like to rent a tuxedo or suit for your wedding, we will accommodate you no differently than we would any of our other customers. Everyone deserves to enjoy their special day and we want to service you to the best of our ability.

For women getting married who want their girls to wear tuxedos, there's a couple things you need to know. We will absolutely fit the girls for the tuxes, but you must remember that it is still menswear. It is going to fit a little differently than if they were getting a blazer that is cut for a woman's curves. It is the same thing with the pants. Most of what we have to offer is rental, and rental garments are made to fit a number of different sized people. The pants are not going to fit the girls like women's pants will fit them. We cannot take in the legs of the pants, as this would ruin them for future use. The only thing that you could do is look into purchasing and then take it to be tailored. We are not professional tailors and you should seek one if this is what you are interested in. We do have garments for purchase as well, and we can explore those options if you'd like when you come in.

On the flip side, we will have them try on everything so they can see how it will fit from the start. Also we need to make sure that they are comfortable and that the garments look good. Measuring women is a little bit different than measuring men and it's harder to know what sizes will fit them best without having them try on garments. We make sure we do that right when they are measured.

We will do minor alterations on the spot. If the sleeves on the jacket are too long or too short, those are easily fixed in about 10 minutes while you wait. It is the same way for the pants length; it is very easily fixed.

Helpful Tips: Everything is Adjustable

Often times it can be a daunting task to rent a tuxedo. Firstly, many of our customers have never worn one before. This automatically brings the guys out of their comfort zone and into a realm of uncertainty. It's hard enough trying to figure out how to fit yourself for your normal attire, but a tuxedo can feel like a whole other ball game. Don't worry though, it isn't nearly as daunting as it can feel. So don't enter into your panic mode just yet.

What a lot of people don't know is that most of what you have to wear is adjustable. We know when the guys put on a dress shirt their "favorite" button is the top button. Normally the top button can feel uncomfortable and restricting, especially if you are not accustomed to wearing formal wear. Luckily, our shirts have a flex button that stretches to give you the little bit of room you need. If you need more room beyond that we can put a extender on the top button for you which will give you even more room. Of course, we will never squeeze you into a shirt that is too tight on your neck so that is not something you have to worry over. 

Do you fluctuate between pant sizes as well? You're in luck. Our pants all have adjusters on the waist and the pants adjust 3 waist sizes. This makes the fitting process a lot easier and you will be able to tighten or loosen your pants as you see fit. This is something a lot of our customers enjoy about our pants. Please note that suit pants are the only pants that do NOT have the adjusters, but at that point we will have you try on pants to be sure you are comfortable.

Feeling better about wearing a tuxedo yet? Well I have even more news for you; your vest adjusts as well. We do not normally have anyone who is too concerned over the fit of the vest, but it can be tightened or loosened based on your comfort level. 

The only thing that does not adjust is the jacket and honestly, tuxedo coats are going to be a little more restricting than you are used to. There is no stretch in the fabric of the coat, so you are not going to feel the same way you would if you were in your own normal clothing. Of course, realize you won't be squeezed into a tiny size either. The whole tuxedo might give you more comfort than you think.

Rest assure, we want you to look good AND be comfortable. We will guide you through the entire fitting process and let you know how the garments should feel. As long as the garments still look good, you could go up into a bigger size or a smaller one at your own discretion if that is more comfortable. We do not want our customers to come in and try everything on and not voice their concerns if something feels uncomfortable. That's why we have the fittings to be sure of the fit; we are here to help. 

Helpful Tips: How to Get the Process Started

Often our customers can get overwhelmed with the volume of things that need to be taken of for their wedding. We understand; so many things need to be picked out, there are a million decisions that need to be made, and sometimes deadlines begin running together. Don't worry! Getting the tuxedos together for the guys does not need to another difficult undertaking. 

1. How do I get started?

Simple. We have new promotions that change monthly.If you and your fiance decide you want to have us provide your tuxedos for your wedding, all we need is $20.00 from you to register you wedding. That just means it will lock in your promotion, so if our prices ended up increasing after you booked, your pricing will remain the same. That's all you need to do and the $20.00 is refundable if you are still undecided.

2. What should we do first? Measurements or Styles?

This will be dependent on when you book your wedding, but usually we get most of the styles picked out the day you register and then after that you can send in the guys to be measured. Even if you are not sure what styles you want, still send the guys in as soon as possible. This way, once styles are selected we can get their sizes ordered right away instead of then having to wait longer for the guys to trickle in. 

3. Should my guys wait to be measured if they are losing weight?

This is a question we are constantly asked. The answer is no, they should NOT WAIT to be measured if they are losing weight. The reason why is that when a guy is measured and we order his garments, his sizes and the sizes around them are reserved for him. This helps if he needs a replacement (if he needs a size up or a size down in something.) When you wait, you're risking not getting the sizes you need. What you should do instead is get measured with everyone else and then get remeasured about a month before the wedding. This way, we have sizes in the system for you already and a lot of the garments do adjust a couple sizes, so you may not have to get different sizes altogether.

4. What are my deadlines?

Again, this will depend upon when you book your wedding, but normally we want the measurements about 2 months before and styles finalized about 3 months before. If your wedding is during the busy season the deadlines will be sooner. This goes back to us needing to get the garments and sizes reserved ahead of time because there is such a large volume of people renting tuxes at the same time. I tend to suggest to my Grooms and Brides that they get this done in advance, before their deadlines approach. Reason being is because we have had multiple weddings where the guys are dragging their feet on getting measured. A lot of guys have waited well beyond their deadline and have risked not getting a tuxedo at all. We know this is not something our Grooms and Brides normally want to deal with while getting through the finishing touches on their wedding. So if you can get the guys in early, all they will have to do is come in to try on and pick up their tuxedo closer to the wedding.

We want all of our customers to be happy on their special day and we try to make this process as easy as can be. We go over all the details you need to know and write them down for you to take home. We want the entire process, at least on our part, to be as smooth for you as possible.
