1. Everything Runs Different.
Every garment fits differently, you could be a 40R in one coat and then might be completely uncomfortable in a slim fit coat of the same size, for example. Keep this in mind; when we measure people at our store, we have them try on fitting coats. These fitting coats are older and not fitted in any way, so the coat that you would be getting would be different. If we have the exact coat in the size that you need we will have you try it on so you won't have to worry about if you will be comfortable. We try to have you try on garments if your sizes look questionable after we measure you or if you are in between sizes. We want you to be as comfortable as you can be in your tuxedo and we truly want you to enjoy your event.
2. Getting Measured Out of Town.
A lot of our customers get measured out of town because they do not live close enough to get measured here. That is completely fine, but if you feel like they are not measuring you correctly, please let us know. We have had this happen many times where a customer gets measured somewhere else and does not bring it to their attention or ours that perhaps their measurements are off, and they usually are. These are things that we look over but we cannot always catch everything without actually seeing you in person. Make sure to include your height and weight when you send over your measurements because this is how we check over your measurements. Also, if you can try something on, please do! It will make picking up your tuxedo a lot easier when you come here to try everything on. We understand your time is precious and we want to make sure you have what you need for the wedding.
3. Different Body Types
Everyone has a different body type and everyone has a different comfort level and just because your measurements seem like everything may fit, that does not mean it will. Again, when customers are getting measured we want them to try garments on. This way, you know exactly what to expect and you won't feel uncomfortable. Which brings me to the next point:
4. The Tuxedo Will NOT Fit Like the Your Normal Clothes.
Tuxedos are restrictive; they are not made to stretch and can feel weird if you do not wear them often. Even if you do not know how the tuxedo should be fitting, do not leave the store without voicing your concerns! We will give you options based on what will make you comfortable without compromising the look of the tuxedo. But we cannot know if you are not liking it if you do not tell us first.
The entire Gerard Tuxedo Staff wants our customers to look good and feel even better. We want to make your fitting as easy for you as possible. When you get measured, we want you to leave feeling confident that you'll be comfortable in your tuxedo. If you do not get measured here, keep us informed. Let us know if you think your measurements are off and just not right. Communication is key and we want all our customers to happy when they come into our store.
